spinnXS main working principle is patented already by Dutch company OPALIO.(Opalio.com) I did my master graduation project with in the same company Opalio. I designed SpinnXS as interactive public communication device for retailer market. This product can deliver the sale message or promotion to the potential customers in the public street. It energize itself by wind energy. The reflective type electronic displays on the meddium allows dynamic refreshment of content which is provided by retailer. This content can be sale information, product, logo of the company, vs.. Spinnxs spins by wind energy, but if there is no wind it uses the energy from the batteries to turn it self by generator/motor system.(generator can be used as motor) By the same principle of radar while spinnxs turning on its axis it scans for the potential customers who approaches. When it detects a person it stops turning by facing the screen to the person and pops up a special promotional message to the person. This message can be ” Please open your bluetooth connection to get our digital discount flyer”. So spinnxs can be used also sending digital promotional content to customers digital devices.
Further on SpinnXS can recognize customers by their ID of their bluetooth device. So Messages can come more personilized to known customers or members. For instance “Good afternoon, Mr. Yakamoto,” it says. “How did you like that three-pack of tank tops you bought last time you were in?”
